WR Darrius Heyward-Bey Invited to Minnesota Vikings’ Pre-Draft Workout

Several mock draft boards have Florida WR Percy Harvin going to the Vikings with the 22nd overall pick. Harvin would give either Sage Rosenfels or Tavaris Jackson another offensive weapon, as well as give the team a much needed return man.

But not so fast. Apparently the Vikings have offered to arrange a private pre-draft workout with former Maryland receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey.

The 6'2" 210 lbs receiver lit up the combine as the top performer in the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone drill, and 20-yard shuttle. 

Before the combine, he was overshadowed by other wide receiver talent. But with his untouched combination of size and speed, he has given teams another name to think about.

The biggest question with Heyward-Bey is whether he's worth the gamble. He has the potential to be a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver, but he also has the potential to be a bust, sim...
