Yesterday was Opening Day for most of Major League Baseball, so it feels like the middle of summer, regardless what the Doppler radar says.
We’re quite fond of our Opening Day traditions in St. Louis; the Budweiser Clydesdales circling the field with the players riding in red convertibles right behind them and an increasingly rare appearance by Cardinal legend Stan Musial.
However, opening day festivities in Philadelphia proved to be something special on Sunday night—with the players entering the field amidst the bleacher creatures at Citizens Bank Park.
The Philadelphia fan base gets a lot of crap. Rightfully so when you chuck batteries at an opposing player’s melon. But, AA Duracell’s notwithstanding, that entrance when pretty darn neat.
