Amidst questions regarding the health of guard Ty Lawson, the Tar Heels came out of the gates strong, beating Radford with authority 101-58. They moved on through the rounds, trouncing each opponent, and in the end beating their competition by an average of just over 20 points per game.

As I watched North Carolina, I couldn’t help but be struck by their ability to remain focused.  No matter how far ahead they were, or poor opponents, North Carolina maintained magnificent focus, simply playing their game, taking advantage of the other team’s mistakes, and executing both when it counted, and when they were up by 20.

No doubt that the tournament was won by the absolute best team. No questions asked! There are instances in the tournament where you see an average team have an amazing night and play beyond their skill levels, amazing both fans and ...
