Sapp, Farwell Re-signed By Vikings

... back Benny Sapp was resigned for a one year contract and reports say it is worth nearly $620,000. Sapp saw most of his playing time at the nickelback position when Charles Gordon was injured.

In addition, the Vikes re-signed linebacker/special teams standout, Heath Farwell. Farwell will be the No. 1 backup linebacker.

He is the man on the special teams unit after being the captain on the unit 2006 and 2007. In 2008, the Vikes lost Farwell for the season with a torn ACL. Because of this, last season, the special teams had no captian. The unit missed Farwell a great deal, considering they were one of the worst in the league on kick coverage.

Farwell had signed a three-year, $7.75 million contract that calls for $3.25 million in guarantees.
