Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas Dies at Age 73

... >Harry Kalas passed away today at the age of 73. Kalas passed out in the broadcast booth of Washington's Nationals Park earlier today while preparing for this afternoon's Phillies-Nats game.

He was found at about 12:30 p.m. and was rushed to the hospital, only to be pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Kalas had been broadcasting Phillies games since 1971 and was also well-known for his work as a voice-over narrator for NFL Films. Before joining the Phillies, he broadcasted Houston Astros games from 1965-1970.
