... interception, the Giants received the ball around the Eagles' 30-yard line. Eli Manning had no one to throw to so he took a run to the left.

Eli ran for the first down, but as he fell, he fumbled the ball. Granted, Manning was touched as he was running it. So it could have been called either that Manning was down or fumbled the ball.

The refs decided not to change the fumble call. If the Giants scored at that point and the fumble had not occurred, the game may have been tied in the fourth quarter. This play brought back memories of the recent Jets game when Mark Sanchez injured himself while taking a slide for a first down.

Reportedly the Jets even brought in Joe Girardi a couple days before to work with Sanchez on his sliding.

Due to Sanchez's injury he could not play this weekend for the Jets against Tampa Bay.  This injury would be no problem for the Jets, as they demolished the Buccaneers 26-3.
