Kansas City Chiefs: Can You Blame Clancy Pendergast?

The Chiefs have allowed 30 or more points six times this year. In case you don't know, that's not good!

But can you blame first year defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast? Most of the starting defensive players were already there so at this point, no.

Should we give him another year to hopefully get his guys in there to improve this offense?

Yes. The Chiefs are actually giving up less points on defense than last year, last season the Chiefs were giving up 27.5 pts/game, but this season only 22 pts/game. The Chiefs definitely need to keep Pendergast here.

The major problem is on offense.  This season they are scoring just 17 pts/game.  The average would be even lower if you were to take out the Cleveland game where they somehow scored 34 points.
