Jets DE Calvin Pace Suspended Four Games

... end/outside linebacker Calvin Pace has been suspended for four games by the league for violating it's anabolic steroid and related substances policy.

Pace signed with the Jets in 2008 after playing his first five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

In his first season with the Jets this past season, Pace recorded 80 tackles, 7.0 sacks, and 5 force fumbles during all 16 games in which he started.

In a team-issued statement, Pace said he wasn't intentionally trying to get an illegal edge, but also said he is responsible for this suspension.

"This is a situation that resulted from an over-the-counter dietary supplement that contained a substance that I did not know violated the league's policy," Pace said.  "I am responsible for what I put into my body and I should have paid closer attention to the league's guidelines.
