The trade brings to an end a month's worth of drama and two days of speculation on where Cutler would be headed. Many had thought the Redksins and Jets would be the most likely suitors, but the Bears have won the sweepstakes.
If the Bears could somehow get a good receiver, this move could help put them over the top. They already have a very good running back in Matt Forte, who is a pass-catcher as well. Their receivers—Devin Hester, Marty Booker, Earl Bennett and Rashied Davis—are decent, but aren't quite up to the level of Brandon Marshall.
