Jay Cutler Demands Trade From Broncos, Should Detroit Go After Him?

Cutler feels McDaniels has slighted him for even considering an attempt to get his protege, Matt Cassel from New England. Attempts failed as Cassel signed in Kansas City, but Cutler took offense and attempts to repair the damage has been ineffective.

Cutler now states that he will not report to the Bronco's first meeting and wants to be traded.

As far as the Detroit Lions are concerned, is Cutler the type of quarterback they need? 

Would it be better to get Cutler, who at age 25, has improved each of his three years in the league? 

Or would they be better served in drafting Matt Stafford, an untested rookie who would more than likely have to sit out a year?

Cutler has some solid numbers in his career. Since he took over in 2006, he has not missed a game. He played in five games in 2006 and then full seasons in 2007 and 2008—so he is durable.
