It’s Official, Jay Cutler Traded to Chicago

... have traded Kyle Orton and three draft picks to the Denver Broncos in exchange for quarterback Jay Cutler. The Broncos will get the the Bears' 1st and 3rd round selections in the upcoming 2009 NFL Draft scheduled for April 25-26, and the Bears 1st round selection in 2010.

Initially, I thought this was an excellent trade for the Chicago Bears, that is until I discovered how much had to give up to get him. The Bears are obviously sold on Cutler's potential or they wouldn't have given up the kitchen sink to acquire him.

After hearing the news, my initial reaction was that Chicago is now an ideal partner to deal for Bengals' WR Chad Ocho Cinco, but I simply don't think they have enough in to give in return. They still have have a second round selection in 2009 and 2010, but I don't think it's enough.

However, the Broncos could now be an ideal partner to trade up with the Bengals to possibly select USC QB Mark Sanchez with the sixth pick in the draft.
