Detroit Lions Pick Up Julian Peterson: Curry Should Still Be No. 1 Pick

Peterson, a Michigan State alumni, has made the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons  as a linebacker with the Seattle Seahawks.  With an average of 4.6 sacks per year and 46 solo tackles per year, he brings exactly what the Lions need:  A fast tackling machine opposite Ernie Sims that can get to the quarterback.  And a bit of nastiness the Lions have lacked over the past decade or so.

Now that we have Sims and Peterson, picture Aaron Curry in the middle between these two.  Pretty darn scary isn't it?

The Lions, giving up under-achieving Cory Redding and a fifth round draft pick, could have one of the most elite linebacker corp in the NFL by drafting Curry.

The Seahawks are hoping the Lions will now draft QB Matt Stafford and hope that Curry falls to four to allow them to pick him to fill the void left by the Peterson trade.
