An Open Letter to Josh McDaniels

... Josh McDaniels,

Who exactly do you think you are? You need to look in the mirror and realize that you're not Bill Belichick and frankly you’re just a rookie head coach who hasn’t proven a thing yet.

So you were the offensive coordinator for a great Patriots’ offense. So was Charlie Weiss, and I think we all know how he turned out. So you worked under arguably the greatest coach of all time in Bill Belichick. So did Romeo Crennel and Eric Mangini and we know how they turned out.

The truth is that there are only a few elite head coaches like Belichick that have earned the right to basically do whatever they want. I'm sorry for breaking the news to you like this, but unfortunately you are not one of them. Contrary to what you may believe, a franchise quarterback is much more valuable than a rookie head coach.

As Joe Montana proved by winning four Super Bowls with two different head coaches, it doesn't always matter who the head coach is. ...
