Round One Pick One: Detroit Lions/Matthew Stafford/Quarterback/Georgia

All of this commotion about the possibility of the Lions taking Jason Smith here is a bunch of nonsense. I think if you are the Lions, the decision not to pick Stafford would have been made months ago. They hadn’t had that in their minds, so I think this is a no-brainer pick for them. Stafford is a franchise quarterback of the future for Detroit.

If they can find a way to protect him immediately, he could put up similar stats to Matt Ryan from last season.
