The Vikings were thought to be a serious Super Bowl contender last season, but the inconsistent play from QB's Gus Frerotte and Tavaris Jackson led to the team's downfall.
Another weakness, though not as bad as the QB, was the health of WR's Sidney Rice and Bernard Berrian. Rice spent time on the sideline with an injured ankle, missing 4 games, while Berrian injured his ankle late in the season but continued to play.
Jackson's slow maturity and progression have been the biggest part of his inconsistent play. His decision-making on the fly also has shown little improvement (if any at all). While he has the ability to run the offense, he has not proved he can run the system for a full season.
