Leftwich was finally pulled and benched and in came second-year QB Josh Johnson. During Johnson's first few plays, the announcers said that Johnson has a quick release whereas Leftwich has a big windup. Johnson finished with 36 yards going 4-10.

Soon after declaring that the Buccaneers were sticking with Byron Leftwich as the starter, Head Coach Raheem Morris announced that Josh Johnson would be the starting quarterback for the Week Four Washington Redskins game. To add salt to Leftwich's wound, Morris also let it be known that the team's 2009 first-round draft pick Josh Freeman would be ahead of Leftwich on the depth chart, making Leftwich the third string quarterback.

In watching this year's preseason games, both Johnson and Freeman appeared to scramble around for yards more than they threw. I am not certain whether ...
