Week 15 NFL Power Rankings: Respect for Arizona Flies Out the Window

Published: December 16, 2009

commentNo Comments

Well, Arizona fans demanded respect last week, and they would have earned it, except the Niners spoiled that plan, as the Cardinals dropped back down to No. 8 in the rankings at a respectable 8-5.

The No. 1 team in the league is still the New Orleans Saints at 13-0, with No. 2 going to the Colts, also at 13-0.

Will someone remind me when two teams were last 13-0 in the same season. This will be the next crazy sports frenzy if these good teams keep winning as they come into the play-offs.

Minnesota, despite a blow-out to Arizona, keeps No. 3 secure, with a nice win last week, and an overall record of 11-2.

The Chargers look very good and are now in the No. 4 spot. 10-3 is very nice right now, and Denver has to hustle to keep a wild card spot.

The Green Bay Packers are on a roll and have secured No.5 at 9-4.

The Philadelphia Eagles are also at 9-4 and have a game lead in that division. No 6 to the Eagles.  The Packers have a test against Pittsburgh, while Philadelphia could swap places with Green Bay with a strong game.

No. 7 goes to Cincinnati, who better start winning the games they should in order to stay in the top ten, and viable in the playoffs.

As I mentioned, Arizona is No.8 due to a loss and a horrible showing against the 6-7 Forty Niners.

No. 9 is Denver, who also must win two out of three to safely make the play-offs, I imagine.

Now at 8-5, along with Arizona, These teams must learn to win every week, not off and on, like a flickering light.

No. 10, is Dallas, again showing signs of massive collapse in December.

New England is hanging around to win the AFC East, and at 8-5, they will win this division, and could be a nightmare to someone in the playoffs. No 11 to the Patriots.

Now it gets tricky, as all these teams seem closely matched.

The Ravens are 7-6 and at the top of these teams with close to a 500 record. The Ravens are hopeful for a run to the play-offs.

The Dolphins have No. 13, and the Ravens No.12.

The Jags are hanging in there at 7-6 also and are ranked No. 14.

The Jets are the last of the teams over 500 and are ranked No.15

The Giants are reeling at 6-7 and probably have missed the play-offs. No. 16 and falling.

The Steelers have lost five in a row and are no longer a play-off bound team, barring a miracle. No. 17 to the fallen Steelers.

Atlanta is a pretty good team, but also at 6-7 things are looking bleak in this second season of the Matt Ryan era in Atlanta. No 18 to the Falcons.

Houston is at No. 19 and have also fallen from grace in the NFL play-off picture.

Tennessee is at No. 20, but could improve with a win against the Dolphins.

The Forty-Niners are at 6-7 with a nice win to sweep Arizona this season, but too little—too late for Mike Singletary and the defense this season. The Niners may move up a little more, but not this week with the Eagles.

Chicago is at 5-8 and not in any play-off conversation this season. More receivers and offensive line help is needed for Cutler.

The Panthers are pretty bad also, and are 5-8 and have real age issues on this team.

No. 22 for Chicago and No. 23 for Carolina.

Buffalo is at No. 24 and not very happy in a lot of ways. Mike Holmgren would not take this job, and is probably going to Cleveland it seems.

Washington is also at 4-9 and need some big changes to become competitive in that very tough division they occupy. No. 25 for the Redskins.

The Raiders are at No. 26, and should not rise any further this season, as Washington smoked them in their own house.

No. 27 are the Seattle Seahawks who have shown nothing this season, despite initial high hopes.

No. 28 are the hopeless Kansas City Chiefs, who I have picked to win too much this season.

No. 29 are the surprising Cleveland Browns who beat the Steelers with one guy. 2-11. Hooray!

Detroit has slipped to No. 30 and also have just two wins this season.

No. 31 are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with one lone victory, and a couple of good efforts.

The St. Louis Rams are now the worst team in professional football.

WEEK 15 NFL Picks: Starting This Week, Be Careful!

Indianapolis is in Jacksonville, and this one is meaningless for the Colts. Jacksonville, however, needs to keep winning to keep it’s wild card spot safe. Take the Jags in a secret upset brewing this week.

Dallas travels to New Orleans to feel the new power of the NFL.The Saints will cream the Cowboys in this one.

New England looks to get well against the Bills. Take the Patriots easily in this one.

Philadelphia is a real good team at home in December, and the Niners have no chance in this one.

Miami needs this win bad against Tennessee, and they may have enough defense to stay with Vince Young. Chris Johnson is another matter. I like Tennessee to steal a close game here.

Houston visits the Rams and should come away a winner here, as the Rams are now the worst team in football, with Cleveland beating the Steelers last week.

Atlanta has the Jets in the Meadowlands, and this should just about do it for the Jets this season, as they lose to Atlanta at home.

Baltimore will beat the Bears and try to stay in contention for the other wild card spot in the AFC, which Jacksonville and Denver currently hold.

Kansas City should have enough offense to get by Cleveland, who has almost none, except for one guy.

Arizona will have a wide receiver drill most of the day, and give Hightower some carrys as they visit Detroit and beat the Lions.

San Diego has Cincinnati visiting and this should be a great game, with both teams fighting to win the division. I like San Diego do do well in this one at home.

Denver will have it’ s hands full with the newly confident Raiders, but will win this one at home.

Seattle will beat Tampa Bay at home and maybe make it to a 500 record, but that’s about it this season.

The Pack come to Pittsburgh, with the Steelers really hurting, with fives losses in a row. I like the Steelers at home to surprise everyone with a win this week.

Minnesota will beat Carolina and start getting ready to battle in the playoffs this season.

The Giants visit Washington and try  to keep their own playoff hopes alive, and will win this one with no problem.

the playoffs are coming so just watch out for teams that have clinched, and may not be into a 100 percent effort to avoid injuries, and stay fresh for the playoffs.

Good Luck to all your teams.

NFL Mikee’s Adventures in Fantasy Football Week 13 Results Plus Playoffs

I snatched the Raiders’ defense for a couple of my teams this week. The Raiders have Washington and I think they can have a pretty good day.

Team one, NFL Mikee’s Molemen are 7-6 and in fourth place. They need a win this week to notch up a playoff spot in week 15. They lost last week to make things harder this week.

To attempt this feat will be Brett Favre, Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, Derek Mason, Frank Gore, Rashard Mendenhall, Heath Miller, David Akers, and the Philadelphia defense.

Team two, the TWO Wreckers, lost also last week, and are 10-3. This team is pretty good and should make a run in winning this league.

Starting will be Tom Brady, Vincent Jackson, Randy Moss, Davone Bess, Adrian Peterson, LaDanian Tomlinson, Heath Miller, Jay Feeley, and the Steelers defense.

Team three, NFL Mikee’s Maulers are 9-4. In Fox, this is the first round of playoffs.

This week we will start Drew Brees, Darren Sproles, Ryan Grant, Steve Smith, Wes Welker, Vernon Davis, Derrek Mason, Nate Kaeding, and the Titan defense. This team’s projected total is 129 and should win in the first round.

Team four, The South Florida Tarpons, looks like the only team out of seven not in the championship round of the playoffs. Tough luck, Tarps.

This team really struggled as a auto-drafted team and I just could not get them much better.

In the consolation playoffs and destined to lose most likely will be Matt Cassell, Matt Forte, Willis McGahee, Frank Gore, Steve Breaston, Davone Bess, Jeremy Shockey, the Raiders defense, and Dan Carpenter. Good luck to this team. It needs it.

Team five fared a bit better and is in the playoffs in Week 14. The Fort Myers Mustangs were 8-4-1 and are now playing Rashard Mendenhall on Thursday night, who is not doing very well with only three points in the third quarter.

The Steelers are losing 13-3. Wow! Also starting on this playoff squad will be Donovan McNabb, Chris Brown, Anquan Boldin, Randy Moss, Roddy White, Tony Gonzales, the Raider defense, and Nate Kaeding.

Team six, also in the playoffs at 8-5 are ready to roll. The starters will be Kurt Warner, Pierre Thomas, Rashard Mendenhall, Steven Jackson, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, Brent Celek, the Titans defense, and Matt Prater.

Team seven, the North Fort Myers Warlocks are in first place and, of course, are also in the playoffs.

They will start Ben Roelthlisberger, Frank Gore, Thomas Jones, Wes Welker, Larry Fitzgerald, Percy Harvin, Heath Miller, the Jets defense, and Nate Kaeding.

Six out of seven teams made the playoffs, so that’s cool. We shall see how this first round goes. I predict two league winners out of seven teams.

Good luck in all you fantasy sports teams, and have a good weekend.

Week 14 NFL Point Spread Winners

Published: December 10, 2009

Big Ben must get it together on Thursday night or risk missing the playoffs, in the Super Bowl jinx, where the last season’s winner does not make the playoffs.

The Steelers are favored by 10 in Cleveland, and will bounce back to get to 7-6 with a win by two touchdowns or more.

New Orleans is favored by 10.5 over Atlanta, who may be without Michael Turner and Matt Ryan. This was going to be a close game until this fact came to light. With that news, I will take New Orleans to cover.

Green Bay visits Chicago with a firm grip on one of the NFC wild card spots. Chicago has not enough on offense or defense this season. Take the Packers on a mission. Three points is easy.

Indianapolis is at home and favored by seven over Denver. Denver seems good enough to keep this close. Still, I like the Colts to cover this at home. I am still not drinking the Orton Kool-Aid.

I like Matt Cassell to beat Buffalo and get something going for next season for Kansas City.

Minnesota is favored by 6.5 over Cincinnati in the Metrodome. Tough to figure this one, but less than a touchdown to cover, let’s say Brett is still plenty strong enough to handle the Bengals.

New England must get back on track this week with a win over Carolina. Thirteen-and-a-half is a big number, but Carolina won’t have much offense in this game. You have to take the Patriots at home in this one.

The Jets will be without Sanchez and must keep Josh Freeman down in this game or they will lose. I will take Tampa Bay at home this week, plus the three points.

Jacksonville is on a roll and must keep it going against Miami, who also needs to win. This is going to be a real good game. The Jags are favored by 2.5. You could flip a coin on this one, but I’ll take the Jags to get it done for a trip to the playoffs.

The Ravens should handle Detroit and the 13.5 points they have to win by. The Ravens will be toast if they do not win this one.

Houston has a home game with Seattle and only needs to cover six. Houston has faded quickly from playoff talk and is now struggling to stay at .500. Still, Matt Schaub should have enough offense to handle Seattle easily.

Tennessee has the Rams and is favored by 13.5. Seems like a lot, but this is the Rams we’re talking about. Take the Titans and give the points.

Washington visits the Raiders and I am using the Raiders defense in a couple of fantasy playoff teams this week. Raiders will win this at home with defense.

I like San Diego to beat Dallas and continue the December slide for the Cowboys. You get three points with San Diego and they might win outright.

The Giants will beat Philadelphia to tighten that division up and it will come down to the last week for the NFC East. The Giants win in a one-point spread deal.

Arizona is in San Francisco favored by three over the Niners. Arizona is really playing well and should win this one, as San Francisco just isn’t quite ready for primetime yet.

Good luck in all your games and have a great weekend.

Week 14 NFL Power Rankings: Thomas Moreland Gives You All the Reasons

Published: December 6, 2009

commentNo Comments

1. New Orleans Saints

They simply stole a game and remained shakily atop the power rankings standings at 12-0. Remember, Indianapolis has had two or three close calls itself as well, so we will let this one slide. If Atlanta beats you next week, all bets are off.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Indy’s been steadier the last couple of games. Let the undefeated race continue! This is like McGwire and Sosa again. Hooray for 12-0s.

3. Minnesota Vikings

Win or lose in Arizona, the Vikings will be a huge force to deal with in the playoffs. As teams clinch, they may relax a bit, or rest key guys. No injuries in meaningless games are also a concern.

4. Cincinnati Bengals

At 9-3, and have a big game against the Vikings. Ha! This would be a Super Bowl preview, if not for this guy named Peyton or another guy named Rivers.

5. San Diego Chargers

Oh, look, Carson Palmer, Phillip Rivers is right behind in the fifth spot with his Chargers all revved up at 9-3 as well. We were all wondering about San Diego in the first five games, and all of a sudden we are not wondering anymore. These guys are good.

6. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are playing well. 8-4 and an upcoming game in New Jersey with the Giants.  They have to win this home game to remain a strong sixth-ranked squad.

7. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys lost a good game to the Giants. If this was a quarterback ranking, Dallas would be much lower. I will leave it at that, as this is a whole team ranking.

8. Denver Broncos

The Broncos, who will likely drop down a notch next week in Indianapolis, slide into the No. 8 spot. Can Denver go on the road, and beat Peyton Manning? I seriously doubt it.

9. New England Patriots

The Pats dropped to ninth, but have some wins coming. It’s a long season, and the Patriots will ultimately win this division.

10. Arizona Cardinals

Arizona’s 7-5 and in the driver’s seat for that weak division still. The playoffs are coming and can Warner and Fitzgerald get hot once more? You never know.

11. New York Giants

The Giants beat Dallas, and with one more win against the Eagles they are in the limelight and a Top 10 team once more.

12. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville is playing good ball and will be awarded a 12th ranking this week. Beat the Dolphins next week and the Jags will keep their spot.

13. Green Bay Packers

The Packers must keep winning to hold this position. A key game beating Baltimore will move them up ahead of the Jags and perhaps the Cardinals as well.

14. Baltimore Ravens

Green Bay’s Monday night opponent, the Ravens, are at No. 14 and could benefit from a win at Lambeau. That’s easier said than done, unless your name is Brett Favre.

15. Miami Dolphins

At 6-6, with a huge win over New England, the Dolphins needs to keep it going against the Jags. They could beat Jacksonville and get into the playoff hunt.

16. Atlanta Falcons

Also at 6-6 are the faltering Falcons. They are the inside looking out, as far as the playoffs are concerned and it’s the second-year jinx for Matt Ryan this season.

17. New York Jets

The Jets are hanging in there at No. 17 in a group of 6-6 teams. One team out of all these, might make the playoffs.

18. Houston Texans

Houston has fallen all the way down to No. 18 and are probably not going to the playoffs as they never had before. Maybe a coaching change is in order here at 5-7 and falling.

19. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are falling like a rock along with the Texans and have knocked themselves out of the playoffs by losing to the Raiders. No. 19 to the Steelers. Win two in a row and maybe move up.

20. San Francisco 49ers

The Forty-Niners are not quite ready for prime time yet, and are at No. 20.

21. Carolina Panthers

With a win over the Bucs, Carolina’s risen to No. 21  and could actually move up some more if some teams that wear yellow and black don’t get their act together.

22. Tennessee Titans

The Titans have some more wins coming and could possibly move up with the Rams next on the schedule. 5-7 isn’t bad, considering the six losses to start 2009.

23. Oakland Raiders

The Raiders took a huge jump and are now ranked No. 23, with a win against the Steelers. The change in quarterback was key in salvaging the season and hope for the future.

24. Chicago Bears

The Bears are in the 24th spot, but the Raiders could beat them.

25. Washington Redskins

Washington, after giving New Orleans a fright, moved up also and is ranked No. 25.

26. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City is showing improvement and is at No 26. They should beat Buffalo at home in Week 14.

27. Buffalo Bills

They try hard, but just not enough big play kind of guys.

28. Seattle Seahawks

Seattle is the best of the bad teams and deserves a No. 28 ranking.

29. Detroit Lions

Detroit hangs onto No. 29 with two big wins in 2009.

30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa, because of improvement and close games are a little better team than the Rams, warrants No. 30.

31. St. Louis Rams

The Rams have only managed to win a game this season. Enough said.

32. Cleveland Browns

The worst team in football.

Week 14 NFL Picks: Upsets Again or Did You Already Know?

Published: December 6, 2009

The Miami Dolphins ran their record to 6-6 and are now in the play-off hunt, as they had a gritty win against New England at home on a beautiful, 76 degree, day for football in Miami.

The Dolphins are in Jacksonville to face the hot 7-5 Jaguars whom Jack Del Rio has believing in themselves. With Maurice Jones Drew, you are always in the game, it seems. Take the home team in this hard fought close game.

The Steelers have lost four in a row, and severely damaged their play-off hopes in 2009.This week they have Cleveland however, and the skid ends here. 6-7 and outside looking in after this one, I’m afraid. 9-7 will not cut it.

New Orleans, after a scare in Washington, takes on Atlanta, who is a far better team. Atlanta is backed against the wall at 6-6 and this is a must win. Expect a good game.

I like Atlanta to end this winning streak this week, and probably take a little pressure off New Orleans who has defensive issues to deal with.

Minnesota is at home, and might be 11-1, playing the Cincinnati Bengals, who at 9-3 are cruising towards the playoffs also. Great quarterback match-ups, good running backs, and good defense. Grab some popcorn and enjoy this one.

Vikings by a field goal.

The reeling New England Patriots have the Panthers in cold New England. The Patriots will not lose three in a row. This happens very rarely, with a Belichek team.

Baltimore will win and stay in the wild-card hunt with a victory in Detroit. This is a good lucky draw for Baltimore to stay on a winning track.

Kansas City is pretty tough at home, plus I think Matt Cassell can beat these Buffalo guys. K.C wins to reach a fabulous 4-9. Buffalo also is at 4-9 after this.

Houston is becoming the same old sad song team, as they virtually gave away the game last week to Jacksonville. They should beat Seattle to reach 6-7. 9-7 is an iffy play-off situation this season. Can Houston win out? Probably not.

The Raiders beat the Steelers? Are we in 1974?   The Raiders have Washington at home, and I believe!!!!   I pick the Raiders for the maybe the second time this season?

The Green Bay Packers have a shot to be 9-4 with a win here. That is if they win Monday night against the Ravens at home in Lambeau Field. Which I have picked them to do.

The Packers are better than the Bears. Plain and simple.

The Titans can reach 6-7 with a win against the Rams, which they will do. The Rams suck.

Dallas has a whole lot of defense to play in this one, as the Phillip Rivers show comes to Jerry town to play the Cowboys. I like the Cowboy fade to continue here.Take San Diego in a high flying affair.

The Giants have the Eagles after playing the Cowboys last week. Who makes these schedules anyway. haha. The Giants will surprise everyone with another win. It worked last week, so I ll go with it.

Well. Here’s a real good one. Indianapolis has a visit from the Broncos in December. Three Peyton Manning commercials as the Colts kick the Broncos bucking back to Denver.

The Jets have a challenge and are not letting up.  They visit Tampa Bay and a team that beat the soon to be 7-5 or 8-4 Packers.

This might be a bad day for a certain rookie quarterback, trying to show up the other rookie quarterback.  We will see much of Thomas Jones and short precise routes from the Jets receivers. The second half will see a couple of downfield passes from Sanchez as they pull away.

I like the Jets to also keep the AFC East race tight.

On Monday Night Football, the San Francisco Forty-Niners have a chance to gain on Arizona in a game at home. They won the earlier meeting, so psychogically they may have an advantage at home.

Mike Singletary, get the defense ready. I’m picking San Francisco.

I am currently 128-62 and well ahead of last years pace of 80 games over 500.

Good luck to all of your teams.

Thomas[ NFL Mikee] Moreland.

Week 13 NFL Point Spread Winners: Key Plays and Games To Avoid

Published: December 1, 2009

commentNo Comments

The Eagles are in Atlanta with the Falcon team pretty banged up this week. Take the Eagles by 4.5 on the road. Without Turner and Ryan, this could be a rough day for the offense.

Denver takes on the Arrowhead curse Sunday, as they are 1-19 the last 20 games there, someone has kindly told me. Still, the numbers point to a Denver win in this one. The past is the past. Denver covers to stay close to San Diego. The line is also 4.5

The Jets are in Buffalo and expect a huge dose of Thomas Jones , and Revis keeping Owens from having a big day. The Jets win  by a field goal or more.

Indianapolis is at home against winners of five in a row, the Tennessee Titans. Indianapolis has their own 10 game thing going. The Colts pass defense will present problems to Vince Young, but Chris Johnson is a bigger threat in this one.

Still, you must respect Peyton Manning to get this win at home. The Colts cover the 6.5 here.

Houston is in an early playoff battle to make the post season, already with this game against Jacksonville. The winner of this one will still have a shot making the playoffs. The loser…….well. Bah, Humbug. I like Houston to win. This game looks like a pick it. No points.

Cincinnati has Detroit in the Buck-Eye State and will go to 9-3 and a solid hold on the division. The Bengals will win, but I will take Detroit with 12.5 points. Seems like too many points to give.

Tampa Bay has a chance to win game No. two this season, and I will take them up on that. Carolina has injury problems, quarterback issues, and is not that much better that Tampa. You get a whopping 6.5 points as well. Go Bucs.

Pittsburgh will tune back up against Oakland and win easily.Big Ben will play and they will cover up to 10 points with no problem. Perhaps even 14.

New England should cover the depleted wild-cat and have enough passing offense to beat the Dolphins. The line is only five and this is a solid play this week.

Chicago has the Rams at home and are favored by nine. You have to take the Bears in this one, but the way they have been playing, The Rams might be a good cover with nine points. Cutler is really due for a decent game. Chicago wins this one, and hopefully covers the nine. Stay away from this one. It’s no fun.

New Orleans will continue winning against Washington , who will have no answers to the Saints. This is a strong play with New Orleans running away with this game. Nine and half seems easy.

San Diego has a vacation type game against Cleveland, who I give absolutely zero chance of winning this one. The line is 12.5 and I can’t imagine anyone betting on the Browns.

The struggling San Francisco Forty-Niners play Seattle in the rainy north-west. I don’t see enough talent to beat the Niners in this game. San Francisco by a field goal at least.

The Giants are at home against the hated division rival Cowboys.Dallas is favored by two, but the Giants will have a bit of a resurgence and win this game by 3-4 points.

If Romo can pull this off, only then will I believe the Cowboys will be relevant in the playoffs.

Minnesota visits Arizona and brings Brett Favre, some confident pass catchers, and Adrian Peterson. The Minnesota pass rush might get Warner out early in this one. Take the Vikings, giving a couple of points.

Green Bay is at home against Baltimore and it’s time for Aaron Rodgers to take over this team, and take them down the stretch. The defense has looked brilliant at times , almost shutting out Dallas in that win.

But the loss to Tampa Bay made people wonder if Green Bay can make the big time once more. The Packers at home are favored by three and they will cover this time.

104-85 to date against the spread. Plus 19 is ok, but I really expect a couple of good weeks to get this 30 games over 500.

Thomas[ NFL Mikee] Moreland.

Week 13 NFL Power Ratings: Three Teams Are Superior To The Rest

Published: November 29, 2009

commentNo Comments

The Colts kept their win streak rolling at 11-0 to keep firmly in the No. 2 power ranking position. Next week they host the Titans and should win this game to keep high in the rankings.

New Orleans is of course, No. 1, and plays No.4 New England on Monday Night Football.

New Orleans can stay at No. 1 with a win , or drop to No. 3 with a loss. If New England pulls off the upset, New England will grab No.3, knocking the Saints to No. 4.

Minnesota, currently is No. 3, of course. The Vikings also would benefit from a Saints loss in the power ranking world.

Dallas is No. 5 at 8-3 and hoping for a New England loss to move up.

San Diego is at No. 6 and Cincinnati is number 7, each team at 8-3.

Denver had risen up a notch and is now No. 8 at 7-4.

Green Bay is on a roll now at 7-4 and is ranked No. 9.

Arizona is now No.10 amid quarterback issues. Warner is key to this team making the playoffs and advancing.

No. 11 are the Giants, who need wins in the next two weeks against Philadelphia and Dallas to get it going for a wild card spot most likely.

No. 12 will be the Philadelphia Eagles, who also need a win next week against a hurting Atlanta team.

No 13 are the Baltimore Ravens, who trying to keep their playoff hopes alive at 6-5.

No 14 are the 6-5 Atlanta Falcons, who must beat Philadelphia next week to stay alive in a playoff hunt as well.

The Giants occupy the No. 15 position and will need some breaks to make the playoffs this season.

Pittsburgh is at number 16, mainly due to injuries and will also need a break to qualify for the postseason.

Jacksonville has moved up and is 6-5, even after a loss to San Francisco. No 17 to the Jags.

Tennessee is right back in it now at 5-6 and is hot, but must play Indianapolis next week. Tennessee is at No. 18.

Miami is at No. 19, followed by the Jets at No. 20.

Houston has fallen to No 21 and must win out to make the post-season.

The Forty-Niners are at No 22 and also have a long road to the playoffs this season.

Carolina is at No. 23, followed by Buffalo at No. 24.

Chicago has fallen all the way down to 25 now, and could drop further.

Kansas City has No 26, and Washington is No. 27.

The Raiders are at No.28. Tampa Bay, thanks to the play of rookie QB Josh Freeman, moved up to No. 29.

Detroit is at No. 30, and the Rams are No. 31.

The worst team in professsional football is still…… the Cleveland Browns.

Week 13 NFL Predictions: Playoffs Loom Large On Teams Game Plans

Published: November 29, 2009

commentNo Comments

Denver must now give chase to San Diego in the AFC West as the Chargers will win against Kansas City in Week 12 and keep a one-game lead.

In Week 13, the Broncos play Kansas City in Arrowhead Stadium and should win this one to run their record to 8-4.

The Jets have Buffalo and should win this one, even though it’s on the road. New York still has little chance to make the playoffs unless Mark Sanchez suddenly matures one season early, and takes them on a run starting this week.

The Jets will beat Buffalo, but after that, no one knows.

Philadelphia travels to Atlanta and needs a win, but so do the Falcons. Matt Ryan and his offense should outscore Philadelphia for a close home victory.

Indianapolis, on autopilot to the playoffs, has Tennessee in the friendly confines at home in Indiana. We have to take the best team in the AFC to this point, and give the Colts the nod on this one.

Houston takes on Jacksonville in Florida and should nail this road win becoming one step closer to the first playoff game in franchise history. Houston must keep winning now, and hope the chips fall right for the Texans.

Cincinnati will handle Detroit at home and remain a good solid 9-3 for the season. The Steelers sitting Ben Roethlisberger last week, basically said, here’s the division Bengals, take it.

Tampa Bay will have their only real shot at another win this season, against the Carolina Panthers on the road. I would almost take the Bucs in this one, but I think not.

Carolina wins this one at home.

The Steelers will have Roelthlisberger back hopefully, and handle the Raiders, to keep their playoff hopes alive.

New England is in Miami, and should handle the reduced wildcat without Ronnie Brown.

The Patriots are trying to get a high seed for the playoffs at this point, and will play hard up until at least Week 15, then maybe rest some key players.

The Bears may finally win one as they host the Rams. I will take the Bears to get it done.

New Orleans, on cruise control to the NFC Championship Game, will beat Washington on the road easily.

San Diego will take Cleveland on the road easily as well to keep the division lead.

The 49ers have Seattle on a trip north, and should handle the Seahawks to keep very faint playoff hopes alive. These hopes are very faint, like barely a pulse.

Dallas has a big test with the Giants in the Meadowlands. I would take Dallas in this one, except it’s time for the big fold-o by the Cowboys going down the stretch.

I will take the Giants at home, who have something to prove still, while Dallas will be complacent it seems in this one.

The Vikings travel to the desert and take on Arizona. This season, the Vikings added some Favre guy for the trip west. Advantage, Vikings.

On Monday, the Ravens travel to Green Bay and take on the surging Packers. This should be a pretty good one. Green Bay, at home as of late, seems like a good pick.

The Ravens are fighting for the playoffs and so are the Packers. This is like a mini-playoff game to make the playoffs. Take the Packers in this one.

You will see Tony Romo attempt to win a playof game this season. What fun! The Cowboys are 8-3 now and should challenge to at least clinch a wild card soon.

The Packers are at 7-4 and will challenge for a playoff spot, but may fall short. Let’s check everyone else out, and see where the Packers may slip in.

The Cincinnati Bengals have a clear path to the AFC North division. The pesky Steelers may have to settle for a wild card path through the playoffs.

New Orleans is in, Minnesota is in, and New England is in.

Two NFC spots left and three AFC.

Arizona gets in winning that division, most likely.

Indianapolis is in.

San Diego wins that division.

The Steelers bang out a wild card, and in the NFC the last team that makes it is the…Giants.

The last AFC team to squeak in will be the Houston Texans.

Yes, Packer fans, you barely beat out Philly and Atlanta and you make the playoffs.

Next stop, the Purgatory of Brett Favre never leaving you alone.
