Throughout his entire college career, Kevin Smith was compared to Barry Sanders during Sanders' glory days with the Oklahoma State. Smith was even close to beating most of Sanders record while at Central Florida.

Kevin Smith to me was probably the best steal of the draft for Detroit last year. They now have a face to the franchise (RB Wise). Kevin Smith is a hard-nosed, grind-it-out type player, but is very elusive and can shed tackles with that monstrous size (6'1") Although he doesn't have blazing speed(4.50) he still is considered by many a workhouse back.

Kevin Smith was a workhorse in his college career as well, and here are some stats to prove so.

  • Led the nation in rushing, becoming the second player in NCAA in major conferences to rush for over 2,500 yards in a season. (1st Barry Sanders)
