Sean Jones Signing Takes Big Hits On Both The Eagles and Browns

The Browns Big Hit:

Since the 2006 season, Jones' 14 interceptions are behind only Baltimore Raven Ed Reed's 21 and St. Louis Ram Oshiomogho Atogwe's 16. Jones also had 111 tackles in '06 and 96 tackles in '07.

If Jones would have had the season without injuries, the Browns could have been compelled to franchise tag him. Keeping him could have lead to a long-term deal. Defense is obviously something they need right now, along with youth. The Browns have really missed out and it will be hard to replace Jones.

The draft isn't exactly deep in safeties, and neither is free agency. Brodney Pool isn't a great safety and he needs more help than Mike Adams to get the job done. Replacing Jones will be very tough, but then again the Browns did get him in the second round in 2004. Either way, the Browns' Big Hit is a bad one.
