First there is that much anticipated battle for the starting job between veteran Byron Leftwich and the promising potential of young Luke McCown.
Word is that it's totally up for grabs between those two and the final decision will be determined under preseason fire.
Sitting comfortably, dreaming about his soon-to-be-negotiated new professional contract is rookie Josh Freeman, he of the 17th overall pick, who is probably licking his chops over the possibility of $9 million or so in guaranteed money.
No pressure on Freeman, he's not expected to play, at least not at this juncture of the summer.
Odd man out of the picture could be practice squad squatter Josh Johnson, who is upbeat and says he wants to compete for a roster spot and is confident.
Which now leads to the question: Why is Brian Griese still on the Tampa Bay roster?
Does general manager Mark Dominik know something that the rest of the NFL world doesn't?
