With only a majority vote by Santa Clara County citizens standing in the way of this proposal becoming a reality, a new stadium, and apparently a new city, seems to be in store for this storied franchise.
“The 49ers Stadium makes Santa Clara a better place to live, to work, and to play,” said Jed York. “And I think that’s very evident. I think anytime you have a deal that makes your city a better place, I think voters will vote affirmatively.”
The new stadium is said to have one of the largest lower seating bowls in the NFL, and is designed to expand to over 75,000 seats to host events like the Super Bowl. Pictures of the proposed stadium can be seen here.
