Finally, Craig Steltz Gets His Chance To Start As a Bear

Steltz was a fourth-round pick in 2008 who's never started a game, comes off of being inactive the last four weeks and basically used exclusively on special teams.

Yeah, he has seen some play at safety, but with any young player there is a learning curve and with the amount of playing time he gets.

How can you judge his playing?

To be fair you can't.

Steltz played his college ball at LSU where, because of his kamikaze-style hits late in games, he enabled LSU to be able to play for the BCS National Championship in 2007.

They won a couple of games because of his play.

He's a hardworking, blue-collar type player who's been patient and unfortunately been wasting away on the bench.
