Is Mike Teel The Next Tom Brady?

Tom Brady: He has been known as one of the most dominant QB’s over the years. But what many fail to realize is that he was a sixth rounder.

Yes, a sixth rounder. After i saw some film of Mike Teel playing, I realized this guy may very well be the next Tom Brady and here is why:

                                                               Similarity

Type of Of Offense- They both played in a east coast offense in college an looked very similar in many ways.

Arm Strength- Both don’t have great arms, although I have to give the edge to Tom Brady if we were settling who had the better arm. Mike Teel had targets to throw to and had reliable ones too.

Accuracy- When we Talk accuracy, I would give Mike Teel the edge, but both have great sure-handed targets to throw to, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Tom Brady had a higher completion PCT.

Mobility- Mike Teel is obviously the more mobile QB, but when looking at film it looks like he is much better in the pocket and the reason he was so mobile is the play calling done by the head coach.

Bottom line is that if Mike Teel can get a few chances to start in his second year or so, I see a future stud. I’m not talking 51 TDs, but he should put up good numbers such as 25 TDs.

7. Minnesota Vikings– after a debate between the Vikes the Bears and the Pack I decided the Vikes because of.

Adrian Peterson- Do I really have to go on?

Defense– Against the run I shouldn’t even have to say anything but against the pass they weren’t the best but either way their offense should more than make up for it with a lethal and highly underrated wide receiving corps

There are some questions about QB but they should do good enough to manage the game.

11-5 with a wild card playoff berth

8. Green bay Packers- Yes the NFC North is going to have 2 playoff teams this year. I’ll show you why

Aaron Rodgers– In his first full year as a starter he threw for 4000+ yards with 28 TD’s

Ryan Grant– He finally took the full load and got 1200+ yards but only 4 TD’s

WR’s- Greg Jennings was a great WR last year but Donald Driver is getting up there in age.

9. New York Giants- Some people will say I am overrating them and some may say I am underrating them but I put them at number 9 because of

Eli Manning- Say what you want about him being overrated but he does what a quarterback does and he wins games.

Brandon Jacobs– Again say what you want about him losing Derrick Ward but he does what a running back does and he gets you touchdowns. In fact he got 15 in 13 games last year.

9-7 while missing out on the playoffs narrowly

10. Houston Texans– I have them as one of 4 bounce back teams for this year and I have them taking the crown of the AFC south. Let me break it down for you.

Matt Schuab– When this guy is healthy you are really not going to fare well. 3000+ yards when missing 6 games? he averaged more than 300 yards per game that’s enough said.

Andre Johnson– He is just a complete beast he led the league in everything but TD’s. He is better than or identical than the “magical” Larry Fitzgerald.

Steve Slaton– He put up 1282 yards in his ROOKIE season which is very impressive. He also benefits from teams having to double team Andre Johnson while Owen Daniels and Kevin Walter have to be covered also.

11-5 with a wild card berth losing to the Chargers in the wild card

11. Baltimore Ravens– After a great 2008 Joe Flacco is looking to avoid the sophomore slump. Why will he? Because of this.

Running attack– Individually this running group just sucks. When put together these 3 people can really bring some numbers. Ray Rice,Willis McGahee, and Leron McLain are good together because McGahee is injury prone.

Defense– Many say this defense carried the team and I would be fine with that as long as they can use their strength to get to the promised land. This defense is top 5 for sure and will be for the next few years.

The WR’s are the Ravens biggest weakness but Flacco is in a run first offense so he will not be asked to put up great numbers.

10-6 with a wild card berth

12. Indianapolis Colts– The Indianapolis Colts have had many greats this decades and still have many but they are now on the decline of a great decade. They will still make the playoffs because of-

Peyton Manning– The official definition of consistent is Peyton Manning. He has never thrown for less than 4000 yards since his rookie season. But that will change this year where he will drop to 3850 yards. Did I also mention he was MVP last year?

WR’s– They have Reggie Wayne, Anthony Gonzales and Dallas Clark as their TE. Reggie Wayne is highly underrated and one of the best. Anthony Gonzales is going to have a breakout year and Dallas Clark is a great TE.

Their biggest weakness is RB. Joseph Addai has been a dissapointment so far execpt for 2007. Donald Brown shows potential but Joseph is only 25 and will get the work load.

The NFL has many teams, and some do better than others. So with no further distractions I will show you my rankings for the 2009-2010 season.

                                                   NFL

1. Seattle Seahawks– Many people will comment saying I am crazy, but I have some reasoning behind this. The Seahawks are much improved from their 2005 season so they should be able to make a great run at the Super Bowl. I also think their defense will regain it’s rightful spot in the top five.

12-4 with a first round bye defeating the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

2.  New England Patriots– Many people have the Cardinals at No. 2, but with all the pieces from their 16-0 season in 2007, I don’t see how the Patriots can be counted any lower than two. They have Tom Brady and Randy Moss with Wes Welker and Joey Galloway. Do I have to say more?

14-2 beating the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game and losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl (yes, I said it first).

3. Pittsburgh Steelers– The Steelers are the defending Super Bowl champions, so it’s not much of a fight for the third spot. Although their offense is average at best, they have a few play makers. And their defense is scary good, so they shouldn’t allow too many points.

12-4 first round bye with a loss in the AFC Championship Game to the Patriots.

4. Philadelphia Eagles– The Eagles have acquired two extremely talented players, but they are both partially unproven. Even though they are unproven, with Donovan McNabb throwing their way they should have a great season. They also have Lesean McCoy and Brian Westbrook.

11-5 with a wild card, losing to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game.

5. Carolina Panthers– This list is more about the big trophy than the wins, so that’s why I have the Eagles ahead of them. The Panthers have Smash and Dash, enough said. They have Steve Smith, again enough said. They have Jake Delhomme, not enough said.

They reached the NFC Championship Game last season only to have Jake turn over the ball five times. If they can improve the QB position a little they could make a deep run in the playoffs.

12-4 with a first round bye only to lose to the Eagles.

6. San Diego Chargers– I have them at my No. 6 spot because of key players doing much better last season. Philip Rivers was robbed of the MVP award by Peyton Manning while Rivers posted 4009 yards, 34 touchdowns (tied for first), and 105.9 passer rating (first). They also have Shawne Merriman. LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles are extremely explosive players.

A down year for L.T is over 1500 all-purpose yards and 52 catches with an injury. Most RBs would love to have that, so by that reasoning I’m going to say he has a great season this year and helps the Chargers regain form.

11-5 with a wild card, losing to the Steelers in the divisional round.
